On behalf of the International Society for Horticultural Sciences (ISHS) and the Organizing Committee, we would like to announce the I International Symposium on Temperate Tree Nuts: from Agroecologically Sustainable to Organic Production, that will be held in Napoli and Alba (Turin), Italy, from 25th to 31st August 2025. The conveners of the symposium will be Prof. Chiara Cirillo, from University of Napoli Federico II (Department of Agricultural Sciences), Prof. Roberto Botta, from University of Turin (Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Environmental Sciences), and Prof. Tiziano Caruso (Department of Agricultural and Forest Science, University of Palermo).
The International Symposium on Temperate Tree Nuts will be organized under the aegis of ISHS Division Temperate Tree Nuts with the support of ISHS Commission Agroecology and Organic Farming Systems.
The Symposium will be organized in scientific sessions on the main aspects of a sustainable development of temperate tree nuts industry that will be integrated by technical tours both in southern Italy, during the first part held in Napoli, and in the north-western area of Piedmont, during the second part held in Alba (Turin). Among the main topics of the scientific sessions sustainable and renewable orchard management, breeding and cultivar selection for sustainable cultivation, application of precision agriculture and new strategies to cope with climate changes and overall quality of yield will be deepen.
Academics, researchers, farmers, private companies and governmental organizations from many countries will attend the congress.
